On a large system the hard part is not making sparks, it is knowing where the volts went. Walking several kilometres of line with a hand tester every time output drops is a poor use of a morning, and most people simply stop checking. The Super NA 7,000 carries two permanently lit digital displays, one showing fence voltage and one showing operating voltage, backed by a multi-colour LED bar graph and a red low-battery lamp. Watching the fence reading over a few days tells you whether a fault is growing long before an animal finds it. Output is switchable. High mode stores 7.0 joules, peaks at 11,000 volts and holds 6,800 volts into a 500 ohm load, rated at 210 km of line; low mode stores 2.2 joules and holds 6,300 volts at 500 ohms, rated at 78 km. It runs from a 12 volt battery with deep discharge protection or from the included 110 volt adapter. A unit this size demands an earth bank to match and a lightning arrestor ahead of the fence lead. Cut-out switches at the head of each branch are worth the afternoon they take to install, because they turn a whole-system fault hunt into a short process of elimination.
