Most yards need one energiser that will run off the barn outlet now and move to a battery on a summer pasture later. Buying two units to cover that is how people end up with an underpowered one in the wrong place. The Super NA 200 stores 2.0 joules and is rated at 9,600 volts open circuit, dropping to 6,100 volts across a 500 ohm load, which is the figure that matters once an animal or wet grass is in the circuit. Corral rates it at 70 km of fence line in theory; on a working fence with normal vegetation contact, expect a fraction of that. It runs on 110 volt mains or a 12 volt battery, and a 25 watt solar module will keep the battery up on a remote line. It is microprocessor controlled, with an energy-saving mode, deep discharge protection on 12 volt operation, an LED fence monitor and a battery warning light. The supply plug uses a screw fuse. Output means nothing without earth. Give it several galvanized rods spaced well apart in ground that stays damp, use insulated underground cable between them, and check the fence voltage at the far end of the line rather than at the unit.
