Details
The smallest of the duo chargers, and the right size for a paddock, a yard fence or a couple of strands around a small pasture. It puts out 1.0 joule with 1.6 joules stored, which is plenty for a short, clean line and not enough for a mile of brush. Matching the unit to the fence honestly is what keeps stock respecting it. Dual power is the useful part. Wire it to a 12 volt deep cycle battery for a remote fence, or plug it into 110 volt house power with the supplied adapter when it lives in the yard. Both options come with the unit, so it can move as the operation does. Hang it under cover, keep the ground rods in soil that stays damp if you can find any, and check the fence with a tester rather than by grabbing it. A small charger has no reserve to cover a poor ground or a grassy line, so the maintenance you can skip on a big unit will show up immediately on this one.
