When the runs get long, reel capacity stops being a convenience and starts being the job. This one takes about 2,000 m of 3 mm wire, 1,000 m of 6 mm rope, or 1,200 m of 10 mm tape. Enough that a full side of a section goes out and comes back on one drum with no splices and no swapping. The frame is a wire stand, so it sets on the ground or hangs on a post while you walk the line out, and there is a locking pin to stop the drum unwinding on its own. A carry strap takes it over the shoulder or onto a post. A drill roll-up adapter is available separately, which is worth having once you are winding this much line, because rolling a kilometre of polywire by hand is a genuinely long afternoon. Wind under even tension so the line does not dig into itself, and do not pack the drum solid. Keep it out of the sun between seasons. Sunlight ages the plastic faster than a prairie winter does.
