Details
The S2 is the small one, and it is honest about it. Output is 0.25 joules, with about 0.4 joules going in, peaking around 10,500 volts and reading roughly 2,800 volts into a 500 ohm load. That is a short-run energizer. A garden fence, a small paddock, a temporary pen, a strip of grazing off the main line. Its virtue is portability. The whole unit is 3.94 kg, under nine pounds, and about 31 by 24 by 17 cm, so it goes wherever you need it with one hand while a 3 W panel keeps it topped up. There is no cord to run and no separate battery to haul out. Match it honestly to the job. Put it on a long, grassy run and it will disappoint, because vegetation load is what a small energizer cannot fight. Keep the fence short, keep the line clean, and put a proper ground rod in. On a small unit the earth matters even more than on a big one, because there is no surplus output to cover a poor connection to ground.
