Tape is the most visible conductor you can hang on a fence, and that is why it goes on horse paddocks. A horse that can see the line from across the field learns it once and stays off it. The white and red weave reads against grass, against snow and in flat winter light, which is where a plain white tape disappears. The Profi line uses TriCOND conductors woven through the tape rather than a few stainless strands laid along the edge. Better conductivity means the far end of the run stays hot, which matters on any fence long enough to be worth building. Tape has one habit worth knowing about. It catches wind. A wide tape on a long span will flap and work at its fittings, so run it on insulators that hold the full width flat, keep the spans reasonable, and put an equalising spring at the strainer end so temperature movement has somewhere to go. Join lengths with tape connectors, because a knot in tape crushes the conductors and kills the run past it.
