CORRAL premium wild hog polywire 400m (Blue)
Four hundred metre roll of blue polywire with tinned copper conductors, built for deterrent fencing around crops and yards.
Details
Blue is the point of this wire. It was developed for fencing that has to be noticed by wild animals rather than by trained livestock, and blue reads differently to them than the white and red materials used on horse fence. On a deterrent line around a garden, a feed yard or a crop edge, being seen is half the job. The conductors are tin plated copper and they sit on the outside of the braid where they make contact, rather than being buried in it. Copper is a far better conductor than the stainless strands used in budget polywire, so a long deterrent run holds voltage instead of fading away past the first few hundred metres. Four hundred metres is about 1,312 ft, enough to put two or three strands around a decent sized block. Set the lowest wire low, because deterrent fencing works at nose height, and keep the grass off it. Use connectors at every join and terminate on strain insulators rather than knotting it around a post.
