Every splice in a polywire fence is a place where volts go missing. Running a full kilometre off one roll means the back half of a long line has no joins in it at all, which is exactly what you want when the energizer sits in the yard and the fence ends up somewhere past the dugout. At 0.06 ohms per metre this is the low resistance end of the polywire range. On a 3,281 ft run that difference is not theoretical. It is the gap between a fence that still reads well on the tester at the far end and one that a heifer learns to walk through by August. The 3 mm line has body to it. It holds tension through the temperature swing, sheds frost reasonably, and the white and blue stays visible in a whiteout and against fall stubble alike. Run it on proper insulators, keep it off steel, and use connectors instead of knots at every joint and gateway.
