CORRAL energizer to rope connector
The connector that joins an energizer lead-out cable onto a poly rope fence line, giving solid electrical contact instead of a twisted joint.
Details
Poly rope is not wire, and you cannot connect to it like wire. The conductors in a rope are fine strands wound through a poly core, so twisting a lead-out cable around it gives you a joint that touches in a few places, corrodes, and turns into the resistance point that drops your whole fence. This connector is built for that transition. It grips the rope so the conductors are held across the full section rather than pinched at one spot, and it takes the cable coming off the energizer terminal on the other side. That joint is arguably the most important single connection in the fence, because everything downstream of it is fed through it. Worth doing properly the first time. A bad lead-out connection does not fail cleanly, it degrades. The fence reads a bit low, then lower, and by the time cattle are pushing through it you have long forgotten that the joint was ever a shortcut. Check it each spring along with the ground rods. Between frost movement and a winter of temperature swings, connections that were tight in October need a look in April.
