Winding up a couple thousand feet of polywire by hand at the end of a grazing rotation is one of the least popular jobs on a farm. This adapter fits a reel to a cordless drill so the drill does the turning. The time difference is not marginal. A reel that takes several minutes of steady cranking comes in in well under a minute, and more importantly it comes in evenly. Hand-cranking gets ragged as your arm tires, and wire wound loose or piled to one side of the spool tangles when you pay it back out next time. For anyone running rotational grazing and moving fence every day or two through the summer, this is the accessory that makes the system sustainable. Same at fall pull-out, when there is a lot of temporary fence to bring in ahead of freeze-up and not much daylight to do it in. Keep the drill on a lower speed setting. Running a reel at full trigger throws wire off the spool and can pull the line hard enough to yank a tread-in post out of the ground before you notice it happening.
