Tuff Stuff Contractor Mortar Tub 60x36x12
A 60 x 36 x 12 inch polyethylene contractor tub holding around 90 gallons - for mixing, soaking, watering or hauling bulk material.
Details
This is the largest tub in Tuff Stuff's mixing line: 60 inches by 36 inches by 12 inches deep, about 12 cubic feet or 90 gallons, moulded in one piece from polyethylene. It was built as a contractor's mortar tub and it will do that job, but on a farm it usually ends up doing everything else. Open, shallow and enormous is a genuinely useful shape. Mixing concrete or mortar, soaking beet pulp or a whole batch of feed, thawing something out, watering a group of animals, mixing potting soil, washing tack or equipment, catching drips under a machine, or holding a load of whatever you don't want loose in the truck box. Wide and low also means several animals can get at it at once and nothing gets cornered away from the water. Polyethylene suits Alberta because it doesn't rust and doesn't mind living outside. Be sensible with it in deep cold, though: any plastic is stiffer at minus thirty, so don't drag it loaded across frozen gravel or drop it off a deck in January.
