Scotts Weed B Gon MAX Ready-To-Use Weed Control with Quick Connect Sprayer is a DOMESTIC-class selective herbicide registered by Health Canada under PCP Reg. No. 29695 to Scotts Canada Ltd. Its active ingredient is iron (present as FeHEDTA) at 0.25%, in a ready-to-use solution in a jug with a Quick Connect trigger sprayer: "Do not dilute." The label covers containers from 1 L to 6 L; this listing is the 2 L jug. Its only active ingredient is iron, a different chemistry from the Killex and Roundup products. What the label covers: "For use on lawn turf consisting of one or more of Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and fescue (tall fescue, chewing fescue, and/or creeping fescue) for control or suppression of broadleaf weeds." The label's weed list: dandelion, English daisy, false dandelion, white clover, black medic, bull thistle, Canada thistle (under 15 cm tall), common chickweed, creeping buttercup, slender speedwell, narrow-leaved plantain, broad-leaved plantain (suppression only), dove's-foot geranium, lawn burweed, moss and algae. How to apply, from the label: "Pull trigger sprayer from bottle." "Pull hose connector and coil from trigger sprayer handle." Open the spout, then "Adjust spray nozzle to deliver a stream for cracks and crevices or a wide spray for other areas." "Aim sprayer nozzle at weeds and spray to wet." "SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING. Do not dilute." "Spray weeds until foliage is thoroughly wetted, just to the point of run-off." "Repeat treatment every three to four weeks if necessary, up to a maximum of 4 applications per area per year." After use, close the spout and the nozzle and snap the trigger sprayer back onto the jug. Label limits, as printed: "Do not apply to bentgrass." "Do not apply to newly seeded areas until four or more weeks after grass seedlings have emerged." "Avoid spraying desirable plants. Any desirable plants or structures accidentally contacted should be rinsed immediately with water." "Do not apply if rainfall is expected within 3 hours of application." "Do not irrigate within 3 hours of application." The label also says to water the lawn well before treating, not to treat drought-stressed grass, and not to apply when the daytime temperature will exceed 30 °C. What to expect, from the label: "Susceptible weeds, moss or algae will turn brown or black." It also says grass blades can darken for a few days to weeks after treatment and that the product may stain thatch. Precautions, as printed: "CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Causes slight eye irritation." "Avoid contact with skin or clothing." "Do not re-enter or allow re-entry into treated areas until the spray is dried." "Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals." First aid is printed on the label; take the container with you when seeking medical attention. Storage: "Protect from freezing." "To prevent contamination store this product away from food or feed." Disposal: "Do not reuse empty container. Dispose of empty container with household garbage."
