Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair is grass seed mixed with a mulch that holds water, for patching bare spots in a lawn. It is made by Scotts Canada (item 0161). Scotts says: "The mulch absorbs 6x its weight in water to keep grass seeds moist during germination". Package size: 1.7 kg. How to use it, from the manufacturer's steps: "Remove dead grass and loosen hard soil to help tiny seedlings root." Then "Evenly apply Scotts® EZSeed® so the area is mostly covered, but bare ground is still visible and seed contacts the soil." Then "Gently water the area until Scotts® ez Seed® is completely saturated and no more water is being absorbed; mixture will turn dark brown (this will take several minutes). Avoid pooling water." When to plant, per Scotts: "Plant seed in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 15-26°C. Seeds germinate best when the seeded area receives an average of 4 hours or more of sunlight per day." Storage and precautions are printed on the package; read them before use.
