Details
Roundup Ready-To-Use Tough Brush & Poison Ivy Control with Wand Applicator is a domestic-class, non-selective herbicide from Bayer CropScience Inc., registered in Canada under the Pest Control Products Act as PCP Registration No. 31997. The registered label gives the guarantee as glyphosate 14 g/L (present as isopropylamine salt), twice the 7 g/L of the regular Roundup ready-to-use sprays, and covers container sizes from 1 L to 6 L; this listing is the 4 L jug with the wand applicator. It is sold ready to use, so there is nothing to mix. What the label covers: it describes the product as a non-selective vegetation control herbicide "which controls brush and poison ivy, as well as most annual and perennial grasses, including lawn grasses & broadleaf weeds (i.e. virtually anything that is green and growing)." Where to use, from the label's product facts: "On patios, walkways and driveways", "In flower beds & vegetable gardens", "Around trees, shrubs & ornamentals", "For edging along fences, driveways, foundations" and "In large areas for lawn replacement & garden plot preparation & brush control". The label is blunt about lawns and garden plants: "Do not spray plants or grasses you like", and it is "Not recommended for spot weed control in lawns" because the product "kills lawn grasses." It adds: "Avoid spray contact on desirable plants as any plant contacted may be killed. When spot treating around desirable plants, shield plants from drift with a piece of cardboard or plastic. If a desirable plant is accidentally sprayed, rinse off immediately with water." It "has no soil activity" and controls only growing or emerged grasses and weeds; "Repeat applications will be required as new seedlings and vegetation emerge." How and when to apply, from the label: "Spray the weeds or grasses you want to eliminate until thoroughly covered." "Do not apply to the point of run off." For brush: "Apply after leaves are fully expanded. Treat trees and brush up to 1.5 m in height only; for taller plants cut down and spray regrowth." For poison ivy: "Apply to vigorously growing plants. Apply after seed heads, flowers or berries appear." For other weeds: "Apply when weeds and grass are actively growing. Apply to annual weeds anytime after emergence. For perennial weeds apply after seed heads, flowers or berries appear." For renovation: "skip one mowing prior to treatment. Allow at least 3 days after treatment before disturbing the soil and/or replanting." Replanting ornamentals: "All ornamental flowers, trees & shrubs may be planted 1 day after application." Weather: "Apply when air is calm to prevent drift to desirable plants." "Do not apply if rainfall is forecast for the time of application." "Rain or watering two hours after application will not wash away effectiveness. However, heavy rainfall immediately after application may wash the chemical off the foliage and repeat treatment may be required." To use the wand: "Point applicator wand away from body. Ensure trigger lock is disengaged before spraying. Hold trigger for continuous spray." "Glyphosate is not to be applied using hand-wicking or hand-daubing methods." Precautions, as printed: "CAUTION: EYE IRRITANT. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. Avoid contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin." "Do not allow others such as children and pets on treatment area during application or to re-enter treated areas until spray has dried." "Wash immediately after using this product." "Do not contaminate water, foodstuffs, seed or feed by storage or disposal." The label's first-aid section covers skin, eye and swallowing exposure; take the container, label or product name and the PCP number with you when seeking medical attention. For the sprayer: "Do not submerge in water. When storing sprayer for long periods, remove batteries." Storage: "Store this product in its original container, in a safe place out of the reach of children and pets. Keep from freezing." Disposal: "Do not re-use empty container. Wrap and dispose of empty container with household garbage."
