This is the size you buy when you are covering a yard site with several buildings, a campground, a shop and corrals, or when you are replacing traps through a long wasp season rather than hanging a few and hoping. Each trap works the same way: hang it, fill to the line with water, and the attractant cartridge draws yellowjackets in through the top. They drown, and when the bag is full the whole thing goes in the garbage. No insecticide, and the attractant is selective enough that you are not killing honeybees. The economics of the big case only make sense if you actually use them, so plan the season before you buy: traps out early in spring catch founding queens and knock the whole summer's problem down, while traps hung during an August peak just fill up. Space them 20 to 30 feet away from the areas you want kept clear and expect to swap a trap out every few weeks in heavy pressure or hot weather. Keep the unopened traps in a cool, dry place. Once a cartridge is exposed the clock is running on it, so open them as you hang them rather than prepping a dozen at a time.
