Refill attractant for the reusable W.H.Y. trap, sixteen packs to a case. The trap is just a housing; this is the part that actually brings wasps, hornets and yellowjackets in, and once a cartridge is played out the trap catches nothing. Buying refills by the case is the sensible way to run reusable traps, because the one thing that stops people using them is discovering in July that they have four empty traps and no bait. Each pack goes into a cleaned, emptied trap. Plan on replacing the attractant every couple of weeks in warm weather, sooner if the trap is filling fast or sitting in full sun — heat drives the attractant off quicker. Timing beats quantity with wasps. Cartridges used in spring, when founding queens are looking for nest sites, take out whole colonies before they exist. The same cartridge in August is catching workers from a nest that is already at full strength and will keep producing regardless. Keep unopened packs sealed, cool and dry. Once a pack is open it is working whether it is in a trap or not, so open them one at a time as you service traps.
