The bigger the cylinder, the more it costs you when it goes off. A 50 mL barrel that has clouded or picked up chemical attack from an oil-based formulation takes the level indication away and eventually starts weeping past the piston seal, and by then you are working blind on a gun you were relying on. This is the 50 mL barrel in the oil-base specification, made from the more chemically resistant plastic instead of clear polycarbonate. Fitted to a standard 50 mL repeater it makes the gun suitable for oil-based products; on a gun already specified with a poly barrel it is simply the correct replacement. Treat it as a rebuild part rather than something to stock deeply. One on the shelf is sensible insurance for an operation that depends on a single gun through processing season. More than that is money sitting idle in a drawer. Size matching is what gets ordered wrong. This is the 50 mL part, for the 50 mL pistol grip and metal Ezi-Grip repeaters, and it will not go on a 25 mL gun. Check the capacity marked on your instrument before ordering, and check with your veterinarian that the product you plan to run is appropriate for it.
