Details
The cylinder and the o-rings work as a pair, and there is no point replacing one without looking hard at the other. A barrel that has been scratched by grit will chew through fresh seals in short order, and new seals in a worn cylinder never quite hold a full charge. This kit supplies the 50ml barrel with o-rings so the sealing surface and the seal are both new at the same time. On these applicators the cylinder screws onto the handpiece, so swapping it is a workshop-bench job rather than a rebuild. That is worth knowing if you run more than one gun: a spare barrel kit on the shelf turns a dead applicator in the middle of a run into a five minute fix. Lubricate on assembly as the manufacturer directs rather than forcing dry parts together. Once it is back together, pull a few doses into a graduated cylinder and confirm the gun is delivering what the dose setting says before you start on stock. Rinse the applicator and feed tube through with clean water after every session, run the trigger until it comes clear, then air dry it by working the trigger repeatedly.
