Details
The 50ml gun asks more of its seals than the smaller sizes do. There is a bigger piston face, a longer stroke and more volume moving through on every pull, so a ring that is slightly hardened or slightly nicked shows up faster as a short dose or a dribble at the nozzle. Five in a pack means you can change them the moment they are suspect instead of running one more day on a tired seal. The symptoms to watch for are a charge that will not fill in one draw, a trigger that suddenly feels light, or fluid weeping past the piston. All three point at the same place. Fit matters more than anything else here. Use the ring made for the 50ml barrel, lubricate it on assembly as the manufacturer directs, and do not force a dry seal into a dry cylinder or you will nick the new one on its first stroke. Check the barrel for scoring while it is apart; a scratched cylinder will eat a fresh set of rings. Afterwards, verify the delivered volume against a graduated cylinder before you go back to work, and rinse the applicator through at the end of every session.
