N.J. Phillips Plastic semi-automatic repeater with lexan barrel 50ml
The 50 mL repeater with a clear Lexan cylinder, giving a full-size barrel you can actually see the level in.
Details
A 50 mL cylinder holds enough to lose track of. On a long run you are refilling by feel or by counting head, and neither is reliable once you have been at it a while. Being able to glance at the barrel and read a level is the practical reason people choose the Lexan version at this size. The gun is the 50 mL semi-automatic repeater on a plastic frame with a clear polycarbonate cylinder. Dose adjusts in 1 mL increments from 1 mL to 50 mL, set against the arrow on the top of the instrument. Filling is through the tip from an inverted bottle, and the plastic frame keeps the weight down over a long day. Where it does not belong is with oil-based products. Clear polycarbonate does not tolerate them as well as polypropylene does, and a clouded barrel defeats the entire reason for buying this version. Operations running oil-based formulations should take the poly-barrelled 50 mL instead. Care is simple and non-negotiable: hot soapy water through, clean warm rinse, cylinder off, lubricant on the O-ring and the moving parts. Barrel kits, O-ring packs and pushrod assemblies for this gun are all 50 mL parts and share nothing with the 25 mL. What you run through it is a matter for your veterinarian and the product label.
