N.J. Phillips minor service kit w/o barrel for automatic metal injector
The seals-and-washers refresh for the metal automatic injector, supplied without a cylinder, for a gun that is leaking rather than worn out.
Details
Most of what goes wrong with a metal injector is soft parts. Rubber takes a set, washers flatten, and a valve that will not seat properly turns a measured stroke into a rough guess. None of that requires a new cylinder, and buying one you do not need is money down the drain. This is the minor kit: washers and seals only, no barrel. It is the right choice when the cylinder bore is smooth and unmarked and the symptoms are a drip at the nose, a soft or spongy lever, or a dose that has drifted a little rather than gone properly wrong. Run a finger and an eye down the bore before you decide. If it is scored, pitted, or has picked up a ring from being run dry, the minor kit will not hold and you want the major kit with the cylinder included. If the bore is clean, this is all you need and there is no reason to spend more. Like every kit in the range it is matched to a particular injector model and capacity. The metal injector family covers several sizes and parts are not interchangeable between them, so read the model number off the gun first. Refit, flush the instrument through, and lubricate the seals before the first use.
