N.J. Phillips metal semi-automatic repeater 50ml
The 50 mL metal repeating injector, doubling the cylinder so heavier doses or longer runs go further between refills.
Details
The argument for the 50 mL over the 25 is not really about big doses, it is about how often you stop. A larger cylinder means fewer trips back to the bottle, and on a long run through mature cattle that is the difference between finishing before the light goes and not. Dose is adjustable from 1 mL to 50 mL in 1 mL increments, set by turning the adjuster until your figure lines up with the arrow on the top of the gun. Note the step size against the smaller model: this one moves in whole millilitres, so if your work needs half-millilitre resolution the 25 mL version is the one to specify. The body is metal throughout, which is why these tend to outlive several plastic guns. Look after it the same way as any instrument in the range. Hot soapy water through the barrel, a clean warm rinse, then unscrew the cylinder and lubricate the O-ring and the moving parts. Doing that at the end of the day rather than at the start of the next season is what keeps the seals alive. Spares are matched to capacity. The 50 mL barrel kit, 50 mL O-ring pack and 50 mL pushrod assembly all fit this gun and the 50 mL pistol grip, and none of the 25 mL parts will go near it. Dosing and product decisions rest with your veterinarian and the label.
