N.J. Phillips metal semi-automatic repeater 25ml
A metal-bodied repeating injector with a 25 mL cylinder that delivers the same set dose over and over without re-measuring.
Details
Anything that has to be set once and then repeated a few hundred times needs to hold its setting. A metal-bodied repeater does that better than plastic for the simple reason that the frame does not flex. The dose you dial at the start of a run is the dose still coming out of it at the end, and the gun survives being dropped on a concrete alley, which will happen. The cylinder holds 25 mL and the dose adjuster covers 0.5 mL to 25 mL in 0.5 mL steps. You set the required figure against the arrow on the top of the instrument and the gun repeats that measure on every stroke. It fills through the tip from an inverted bottle, so there is no separate feed line to snag on a gate. Cleaning is the whole of the maintenance. Flush it through with hot water and detergent, follow with clean warm water, then unscrew the cylinder, put a small amount of applicator lubricant on the O-ring and a few drops on the other moving parts. A gun that gets that treatment every time will go years between rebuilds. When it does need attention, parts are size-specific. The 25 mL barrel kit and 25 mL O-rings fit this gun and the 25 mL pistol grip repeater, but nothing from the 50 mL side of the range will. What you put through it, and at what dose, is a decision for your veterinarian and the product label.
