Twelve cc is about the largest size where a push-on needle fitting still makes obvious sense. Above it the barrel gets wide enough that the pressure at the tip starts working against the friction holding the needle on. At this size, for routine work on healthy stock, the speed is worth having. The luer slip tip is a plain taper with no thread and no collar. Needles press on and pull off, which means a bent or blunted needle is replaced in a second and a half rather than five. If the product you run is thick, or the animals are not cooperative, the luer lock version of the 12 cc is the one to buy instead. The syringe is polypropylene, the graduations are moulded and prominent, and dose volume accuracy is held to the ISO standard. Each is ethylene oxide sterilised and comes tamper-evident sealed, a hundred per box. They are single-use and are not intended to be washed and re-run. Sharps container after one animal.
