N.J. Phillips luer lock syringe 20cc (50/box)
A 20 cc luer lock syringe, fifty to the box, for volumes big enough that a needle blowing off would cost you the whole dose.
Details
At 20 cc the barrel is wide, the plunger is stiff, and every bit of that force ends up on the needle hub. This is the size at which operations running luer slip syringes usually decide to change over, generally after finding out the hard way what a needle coming loose at full pressure looks like. The luer lock tip has a threaded skirt around it. The needle hub goes in and screws down until it stops, and from there it is mechanically held rather than held by friction, so it will take whatever pressure the product needs. These are polypropylene with prominent moulded graduations and ISO dose volume accuracy. They are ethylene oxide sterilised and tamper-evident sealed, packed fifty to a box. The larger barrel means fewer per carton than the small sizes, which is worth knowing when you are working out how many boxes a season takes. They are single-use consumables and should go into a sharps container after one animal. As always, the volume and the product are matters for your veterinarian and the label on the bottle.
