Twelve cc is enough product that losing a dose actually costs something, and enough volume that you have to lean on the plunger. That combination is what makes the luer lock worth specifying at this size rather than treating it as an upgrade. The tip carries a threaded collar and the needle hub screws into it. Once seated, the needle stays on regardless of how hard the plunger is worked or how much the animal moves, which is not something a push-on fitting can promise with a thicker product in the barrel. The barrel is polypropylene, the graduations are moulded deep enough to still read after the syringe has been handled with cold wet gloves, and dose volume accuracy meets the ISO standard. They come sterilised with ethylene oxide, sealed, and packed a hundred to a box. Use one and dispose of it. These are a consumable line, not something to be stripped and cleaned, and the plunger seal stiffens after a wash anyway. Dose decisions belong with your veterinarian and the label.
