N.J. Phillips Aluminum Hub Needles 16Gx3/4" (100/box)
Box of 100 disposable aluminum hub needles, 16 gauge by three quarter inch, a short full-bore size for shallow work on mature cattle.
Details
Three quarters of an inch is a short needle that has kept the full 16 gauge bore. That combination is for work that needs to stay just under the hide on cattle thick enough that a five eighths does not clear the skin cleanly, without slowing the fluid down the way a finer needle would. Aluminum hub, disposable, 100 per box. On a repeating injector the short shaft is easier to live with: less to catch on a rail, less to bend when an animal ducks, and less chance of twisting the hub off if the gun gets knocked sideways mid-stroke. Short does not mean indestructible. A dulled three quarter inch needle skates off cold winter hide instead of entering, and then somebody pushes harder and the whole thing goes wrong at once. Fit the hub firmly, look at the point every few head rather than every few dozen, and change it the moment it is doubtful. Keep a proper sharps container at the chute instead of an old pail, and take questions about route, site or product to your veterinarian or the label.
