Mad Barn MagneChrome+ is an equine supplement manufactured by Mad Barn Inc. of Petersburg, Ontario, and fed as a daily top dress with feed. Mad Barn's active ingredient statement, given per 100 g, is chromium from chromium-enriched yeast 12 mg and magnesium from magnesium oxide 10 g, together with a proprietary active blend (ID Supplement) of 1.3 g containing not less than DHA 100 mg, citric acid 100 mg, alpha-lipoic acid 50 mg, turmeric 100 mg and CoQ10 10 mg. The excipient ingredients are listed as oat hulls, soy hulls, distillers dried grains, flaxseed, vegetable oil, lecithin and fenugreek. Mad Barn's directions for use read: "Administer with feed. Provide daily." The manufacturer's dosing table is set by body weight: under 200 kg, half a scoop (50 g); 200 to 500 kg, one scoop (100 g); over 500 kg, one and a half scoops (150 g). One scoop is 125 cc and holds 100 g. Mad Barn's caution reads: "Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed when not in use. Do not use in animals receiving other drugs, unless directed by a veterinarian. Do not use in animals with bleeding disorders, unless directed by a veterinarian. Do not use in animals with gastric ulceration. Not for use in horses intended for food." The manufacturer gives a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
