Mad Barn DL-Methionine is a single-ingredient amino acid powder for horses. The label's active-ingredient panel lists one ingredient, DL-Methionine, at 5 g per 5 g serving; one scoop holds 9 cc, or 5 grams. Packaged by Mad Barn Inc., Petersburg, Ontario. From the manufacturer's directions for use: "Please consult a qualified nutritionist or veterinarian for recommended inclusion rates in your horse's diet. Top dress once daily on feed or ration." The label's feeding table gives half a scoop (2.5 g) for horses under 200 kg, one scoop (5 g) for 200–500 kg and one and a half scoops (7.5 g) for horses over 500 kg. At 5 g per day, a 1 kg pail is 200 servings. Label cautions, quoted: "A scale should be used with all individual ingredients to ensure accurate dosing. For Equine Use Only. Not for use in horses intended for food. Keep out of reach of children."
