MagicBrush hoof pick WaterLily
A hoof pick with a brush on the opposite side, moulded from recycled plastic blended with rice and straw fibre, in the WaterLily colourway.
Details
Picking out a foot is really two jobs. The pick lifts packed material out of the frog and the collateral grooves, and then something has to sweep the loose grit off the sole before it drops straight back in. Doing the second half with a hand or a rag is why hoof picks acquired brushes in the first place. The handle is a moulded composite of recycled plastic combined with natural rice and straw fibres, which gives it a slightly different feel and finish from a plain plastic pick. The metal pick sits at one end and the brush, with bristles around 3 cm long, runs along the opposite side. WaterLily is the pale mottled colourway in the MagicBrush range, which has the incidental benefit of being easier to spot when it gets dropped in the bedding. It is shaped to be held in a full fist rather than pinched between the fingers, which is what you want when a foot is being difficult. Rinse it under a tap after wet or muddy feet so the bristles do not set solid, and hang it up or put it back in the grooming box rather than leaving it on the ground where it will be stood on.
