Kerbl Metal Curry Comb
Metal curry comb with toothed rows for lifting caked mud and loose winter hair, and for cleaning out a body brush.
Details
A metal curry comb, which is rows of small teeth on a backing with a handle. It is the tool for breaking up dried mud and pulling out dead hair, and for scraping a body brush clean between strokes. A metal curry is a grooming tool, not a body tool. Used on caked mud and over the heavy muscled areas it does a job nothing else does, but it is too sharp for legs, faces and bony areas. That is what a rubber curry is for. Knowing where to use which is most of the skill in using one at all. Anyone who has cleaned up a horse after a wet spring or a muddy October knows what a metal curry is worth. Same goes for shedding season, when a winter coat comes out in handfuls and a rubber curry just slides over the top of it. It is also the honest way to keep a body brush working, since a brush packed with hair and dust is only moving dirt around. Hang it in the grooming tote and check the teeth now and then for anything bent that could scratch.
