A 110 mL replacement gas cartridge for Kerbl's gas-operated dehorner. It is the consumable that runs the tool, and when it is empty you swap in a fresh one and carry on. There is no reason to ever be short of these. A cartridge weighs almost nothing, they store well, and running out halfway through a pen of calves means either stopping the job or leaving animals held longer than they should be while somebody goes looking. Most people buy several at a time and keep them with the dehorner rather than loose in a drawer where they get buried. Cold affects gas. A cartridge that has been sitting in an unheated shed at thirty below will not vaporise properly, and the tool will run cool or refuse to light at all. Keep your cartridges somewhere warm and bring them out when you are ready to work. Otherwise treat them like any pressurised can: store them away from heat sources, do not puncture them, and dispose of the empties properly rather than tossing them in a burn barrel.
