The AniShock PRO 1500 is the entry model in Kerbl's prodder line. Kerbl lists a total length of 98 cm, about 38 and a half inches, with a 71 cm polycarbonate shaft. It runs on four C-size batteries. Kerbl lists a maximum peak voltage of 5,600 V, an automatic shut-off after 1 second, and a sealed housing for the electronics. Kerbl's own page for the AniShock PRO range is the source for these figures. Orange is easy to find. Dropped in straw, laid across a rail, or left on the seat of the side-by-side, it does not disappear the way a black handle does. The on/off switch stops it firing in the bottom of the truck box on the way out to the corrals. Pull the batteries if it is going to sit all summer, and keep it in the cab rather than the box in January. Cold cells lose punch, and a prodder that fires weakly is worse than no prodder at all.
