Details
Twenty rolls of conforming elastic gauze, each 10 cm wide by 4 m long, or roughly 4 inches by 13 feet. This is the layer that holds a dressing where you put it. Kerbl describes it as an elastic bandage that is easy to position even on rounded parts of the body and joints, so it follows the shape of a leg or a hock instead of bunching up and cutting in at the edges. That is the difference between a bandage that is still on in the morning and one you find in the bedding at chore time. The 10 cm width suits cattle legs, larger horse limbs and body wraps where a narrow roll would take forever and leave ridges. Keep the box somewhere dry and closed, because a roll that has been sitting open on a dusty barn shelf is not what you want against a wound. Wire cuts and barb tears never come up at a convenient time.
