IdaPlus MitePowder
A 250 g pack of finely milled mineral powder for dusting into the perches, cracks and floor edges where crawling insects shelter.
Details
Barn and coop pests do not live out in the open. They sit in the joint between two boards, behind a perch bracket, in the seam of a nest box. Any product that only reaches flat surfaces is working at half strength, whereas a dry powder gets into those spaces and stays there once the birds settle back in. The pack holds 250 g. The working material is a sharp-edged mineral known as gurlite, and the manufacturer describes its action as purely physical on contact rather than chemical. It is sold for use in stables, coops, kennels and around the garden, and it is supplied as a loose dry powder rather than a premixed spray. Application is far easier with a duster than by hand. Kerbl points to its own cit powder atomiser, article 299761, which puts the powder into corners a shaker jar will never reach. Store the pack resealed and somewhere dry, since anything that has taken up moisture will clump and refuse to flow through a nozzle. Read the label before use and follow it for where and how much to apply.
