K&H Pet Products Thermal-Bowl 96oz. Blue 25W
A 25-watt heated bowl holding about 2.8 L, roughly 20 cm across and 9 cm deep, for a dog kept outside through winter.
Details
A dog that lives outdoors in January needs more water than most people expect, and a shallow dish skins over between visits. This size holds about 2.8 L (96 oz) in a blue moulded plastic bowl measuring roughly 20 cm (8 in) across the inside and 9 cm (3.5 in) deep, which is enough depth that a working dog can drink properly rather than lapping at a film. It draws 25 watts and runs on an internal thermostat, so the element only fires as the water cools toward freezing. The plastic is BPA free and the electronics are sealed into the body. The cord is 1.7 m (5.5 ft) and steel wrapped against wear, and the bowl carries a MET listing. Depth is the trade-off here. The deeper profile holds more, but it also gives ice more to form on if the bowl gets knocked out of its spot and unplugged. Set it on a flat, level surface where a dog cannot tip it, ideally against a wall or in the corner of a kennel run. Wash it by hand with mild detergent, not in a dishwasher and not by dunking the whole unit. Use an outdoor-rated, grounded circuit with GFCI protection, keep the cord run short and pinned down, and inspect it in the fall for nicks or chew marks before the cold sets in.
