K&H Pet Products Thermal-Bowl 32oz. Slate Gray 12W
A 12-watt heated water bowl holding about 950 mL, sized for a barn cat or a small dog that drinks near the door.
Details
Small animals empty a small bowl, and a small bowl freezes first. This is the least thirsty member of the heated bowl range: it holds roughly 950 mL (32 oz) and draws just 12 watts, which suits a single cat, a small dog, or a shop animal that drinks a little and often. Slate grey moulded plastic, BPA free, with the heating element and electronics sealed inside the shell rather than sitting under a removable pad. An internal thermostat brings the element on only when the water is heading toward freezing, so on a mild afternoon it costs almost nothing to leave plugged in. The cord measures 1.7 m (5.5 ft) and is steel wrapped for abrasion resistance. The bowl is MET listed, and a non-slip base keeps it from skating across a concrete floor when an animal pushes at it. Clean it by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, and dry the outside before plugging it back in. Do not put it in the dishwasher and do not submerge the body. Because capacity is modest, check the level twice a day in hard cold; the thermostat cannot help with a bowl that has been drunk dry. Outdoors or in an unheated porch, plug it into a grounded outdoor-rated circuit on a GFCI. The steel wrap resists casual abrasion, but it is not a licence to leave slack cord within reach of a determined chewer. Run the lead tight along a wall or through conduit where you can.
