Two small parts that go missing constantly. The safety clip keeps the prod from firing when you do not want it to, and the thong keeps the handle attached to your wrist when your hands are already full of gate, rope and rein. Neither costs much, and a prod is a worse tool without them. The thong is the one people notice first. Drop an unattached prod in a full alley and you are choosing between reaching into a bad spot to get it or leaving it there. A wrist loop makes that decision go away. The safety clip matters more quietly, particularly when the prod is riding in a truck box or on a quad seat. The kit fits red and green Hot-Shot prod handles. Check both parts before a processing day rather than after, since a thong that has gone stiff and cracked will let go the first time it takes any weight. Keep a spare kit in the shop parts bin. These are exactly the sort of thing that gets lost in bedding and is never seen again.
