This one plugs into a 12 volt outlet in a truck or a side by side instead of a wall. If you work cattle at a set of corrals with no power, or spend the day moving between quarters, it means the prod battery charges on the drive rather than sitting flat until you get home. Outfits with cattle scattered across several places tend to be the ones that need it. A pack that dies at the third yard is not much use, and driving back for the wall charger costs more time than the charger costs money. It suits the red and green Hot-Shot handles that run the rechargeable pack. Keep it clean and keep the plug end from rattling around loose under the seat, because the contacts inside a vehicle socket get dirty and a sloppy fit is where connections go bad. On an older truck, do not leave it plugged in with the engine off any longer than you have to. Coil the cord rather than folding it and it will last.
