This version runs on a rechargeable pack and comes with its charger, which suits an outfit doing enough processing days that batteries turn into both a running cost and a nuisance. It takes any Hot-Shot shaft, so an existing rigid or flexible shaft carries straight over. The rest of the handle is what people already know, with the sealed solid-state motor, the finger guard and the safety clip. As with any prod, it belongs at the end of the sequence rather than the start. Gates, a paddle, a flag and a well laid out tub do most of the work when the yard is set up right. Charge it the night before, not the morning of. Rechargeable packs lose ground in the cold, so bringing the handle into the house or a heated shop overnight in the middle of winter makes a real difference to how it performs. Keep the charge contacts clean and store it inside during the off season rather than in an unheated shed.
