This is a soluble electrolyte and vitamin powder that goes into drinking water, and its main use is the stretch of days around a stress: shipping, weaning, processing, a heat wave, a barn full of birds that has just been moved. Animals under stress drink before they eat, so water is the most reliable way to get anything into them. Three hundred grams is the size to buy for a single pen, a small flock, or a farm that wants some on hand rather than a program. If you medicate water routinely or run large numbers, the ten kilogram pail is far better value. Two practical points. First, animals have to actually drink it, so introduce it to clean water in clean lines and watch consumption for the first few hours; if intake drops, offer plain water alongside. Second, treated water goes off. Mix what will be consumed in a day and dump and scrub the trough rather than topping it up. An electrolyte supplement supports hydration during stress. It does not treat disease, and it is not a reason to delay looking at animals that are actually sick. Follow the label for species, mixing rate and duration, and check with your veterinarian before combining it with anything else in the water.
