DVL Bloat-Eze 4L
4 L jug of anti-bloat drench, the size for operations grazing legumes or running rations where bloat is a recurring risk.
Details
Four litres is what you buy when bloat is not a surprise. If you graze alfalfa or clover, or run a hot ration where the odd animal blows up, treating one animal from a small bottle every few weeks costs more and runs out at the worst possible time. The product works on frothy bloat, which is the common pasture and ration kind: a stable foam in the rumen that the animal cannot belch. Breaking the foam lets the gas come back up. It does not fix free-gas bloat, where something is obstructing the escape of gas or the animal cannot get into a position to belch; that is a tube or a trocar job and a very different problem. Buy the jug and then keep smaller working bottles filled from it in the truck and the quad, because the four litres is useless sitting in a shed when the animal is in the far pasture. A distended, staggering, open-mouth-breathing animal is an emergency. Treat and phone your veterinarian at the same time. Give the drench according to label rate and species, and give it carefully, since a fighting animal can inhale a drench. If you are opening this jug regularly, the real fix is in the grazing and ration management, not the bottle.
