This pairs moxidectin's persistence and activity against encysted small strongyle larvae with praziquantel for tapeworm, which makes it the most complete single tube in the equine lineup. For a lot of owners it earns its place as the one strategic treatment of the year — typically late fall on the prairies, when it can cover bots, clean up encysted larvae going into winter, and take out tapeworm in the same dose. The trade-off is cost and the good sense not to overuse a product this capable. If you dose every horse with it every rotation, you are spending more than you need to and putting selection pressure on the last classes of dewormer that still reliably work. Fecal egg counts sort your herd into the horses that shed heavily and the ones that barely do, and that information is what lets you use a tube like this where it counts. Read the label carefully on minimum age and on horses in poor condition. Moxidectin's margin is narrower in very young foals and in thin, sick, or heavily parasitized animals, and this is not the product to reach for on a horse you are worried about without your veterinarian's input first. Set the dose ring to an actual weight rather than an estimate. Deliver it well back over the tongue and hold the head up briefly so it is swallowed rather than dropped. Keep it away from dogs, store above freezing, and out of reach of children.
