Details
The Scotts Whirl Hand-Powered Spreader is a hand-held, hand-cranked broadcast spreader for small lawns, walkways and driveways. Scotts Canada describes it as a spreader that "can be used year-round to feed, seed, weed, or melt snow and ice." From the Scotts Canada product page: it "delivers smooth, even coverage with an application swath of 1.5 m (5 ft)," it comes already assembled ("begin by filling the already-assembled spreader with your favourite Scotts product"), and "the adjustable arm support reduces fatigue, so it's more comfortable to use." Scotts rates the hopper as "designed to hold enough product to cover up to 139.4 sq meters (1,500 sq ft)." Scotts lists lawns, driveways, sidewalks, flower beds and vegetable gardens as places to use it, and fertilizing, overseeding, applying lawn weed-control granules and spreading ice melter as the jobs it suits. Match the spreader setting to the product bag's instructions; Scotts fertilizers, grass seed and EZMELT ice melter carry their own Whirl spreader settings on the package. Where to buy the Scotts Whirl spreader in Alberta: Pipestone Farm Supply sells it from its store in Millet, Alberta (between Leduc and Wetaskiwin, south of Edmonton) and ships it Canada-wide. Order online for in-store pickup or delivery. The Scotts Dial N Spray hose-end applicator, Turf Builder lawn foods and Scotts grass seed are listed on our Scotts brand page.
