Sixty-four one-ounce bait blocks with diphacinone at 0.005%. Diphacinone is a first-generation anticoagulant, and that distinction is worth understanding rather than glossing over. It is a multiple-feed bait: rodents need to feed on it over several days to take a lethal dose, so bait has to stay available continuously and a station that runs empty for two days undoes the work. The trade-off runs the other way on hazard. Diphacinone does not persist in rodent tissue anything like as long as brodifacoum or bromadiolone, so the secondary poisoning risk to owls, hawks, foxes and barn cats is meaningfully lower. On a yard with raptors nesting nearby, working cats, or dogs that hunt, that is a real argument for choosing it over a second-generation product. Read the label. It gives you the registered sites, the tamper-resistant station requirement and the placement spacing, and following it is a legal obligation. Lower risk is not no risk. Place every block in a locked, anchored, tamper-resistant station out of reach of pets and livestock, keep the pail locked and away from feed, and pick up dead rodents daily. If a dog or cat gets into bait, phone your veterinarian right away with the label in hand. Vitamin K1 treats anticoagulant poisoning, and starting early is far better than starting once an animal is unwell. Sixty-four blocks covers a station line around several buildings. The blocks are moulded to run onto a rod so they cannot be dragged away.
