The 10 kg pail of the same soft bait sachets, for operations running a real rodent program — a row of stations around every building, serviced on a schedule, through a whole season. At this volume the cost per placement drops sharply, and if you are already going through the smaller pail every couple of months this is the sensible buy. Soft bait earns its price where hard blocks get ignored: grain bins, feed alleys and any building where rodents have plenty of good food already. The moist, high-fat sachet outcompetes a wax block in that setting, and rodents chew through the wrapper without any need to open it. This is an anticoagulant rodenticide, and a 10 kg pail is a large quantity of it. Read and follow the label — registered sites, tamper-resistant station requirements and placement intervals are all specified there and they are legal requirements, not suggestions. Handle the volume with respect. Store the pail locked, sealed and dry, away from feed, and never decant bait into an unmarked container. Every placement goes in a locked tamper-resistant station anchored out of reach of dogs, cats, livestock and children. Collect dead rodents daily. Secondary poisoning of owls, hawks, foxes and barn cats happens when carcasses are left to be scavenged, and on a yard where you are running this much bait the carcass count is higher. If a pet eats bait, phone your veterinarian right away and bring the label. Do not wait for symptoms — vitamin K1 treatment works much better started early than started late.
