Foaming cleaners exist to solve one problem: a liquid detergent sprayed on a wall runs straight to the floor and takes its contact time with it. Foam sticks. Applied through a foamer it clings to walls, panels, tanks, gates and equipment long enough for the chemistry to actually work on the soil, which is why every serious wash-down operation uses it instead of a garden sprayer. The chlorinated version adds hypochlorite-type action to the detergent, and that pairing does two things a plain detergent does not: it breaks down protein and organic residue more aggressively, and it takes the discolouration and film out of surfaces that have been washed with detergent alone for a long time. Use it as the label directs. Concentration, contact time, application temperature and — importantly — rinsing are all specified there, and chlorinated products in particular need a proper rinse before any surface goes back into contact with feed, milk or animals. Two hard cautions. Never mix a chlorinated cleaner with an acid product; the combination releases chlorine gas, which has injured plenty of people in barns and dairies. Wash acid and chlorinated cycles separately with a rinse between them, always. And wear proper protection — chemical splash goggles and gloves at minimum, because this is caustic on skin and genuinely dangerous in an eye. A 3.8 L jug is a concentrate, so it goes much further than the volume suggests. Store it closed, upright, above freezing, away from acids, and away from feed. Keep the safety data sheet where whoever does the washing can find it.
