Neogen Havoc-XT Blok is a solid rodenticide bait block registered with Health Canada under the Pest Control Products Act as PCP Reg. No. 31138 (registered name HAVOC XT BLOK KILLS RATS AND MICE; registrant: Neogen Corporation). Its marketing class is COMMERCIAL. The guarantee is brodifacoum 0.005%. The registered label shows net contents of 20 g, one block; this listing is a pail of 40 of those 20 g blocks (as arithmetic, 800 g of bait in all). Who the label allows to use it: "Only to be used by certified pest control operators, farmers and persons authorized in government-approved pest control programs." The front panel also reads "For indoor use only." What the label covers: "FOR INDOORS USE ONLY. Use bait to control the Norway rat (Rattus norvegicus), Roof rat (Rattus rattus), and House mouse (Mus musculus) in farm buildings." Unlike some rodenticide labels, this one gives no outdoor or fence-line use. "Bait MUST be placed either in tamper-resistant bait stations or in locations not accessible to children, pets, livestock or non-target wildlife." The label sets out two indoor bait-station tiers (tier 3 where pets and livestock cannot reach, tier 2 where they can) and the construction each must have; read them on the label before choosing a station. In food processing, manufacturing, storage and service areas the label restricts use to non-food areas, or to processing plants when they are not in operation. How to apply, from the label. Rats: "Place 5 - 10 of Havoc® XT Blok usually at intervals of 5 to 10 metres per placement." and "Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days until signs of rat activity cease." House mice: "Place 1 Havoc® XT Blok at intervals 2.5 to 4 metres per placement." "Larger placements (2 baits) may be needed at points of very high mouse activity." and "Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease." Precautions, as printed: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, PETS, and LIVESTOCK." "If swallowed, this material may reduce the clotting ability of the blood and cause bleeding." "May be harmful or fatal if swallowed or absorbed through the skin." "Chemical-resistant gloves must be worn when handling product and when disposing of dead rodents, unconsumed bait and empty containers." "KEEP AWAY FROM FEED AND FOODSTUFFS." "If pet or livestock poisoning is suspected, IMMEDIATELY contact a veterinarian." Store it "in a secure location inaccessible to children and non-target animals." For dead rodents the label says: "Dispose of dead rodents in garbage or by burying."
