The DXRKIT is a charging outfit, not a prod. Four pieces come in the box: a rechargeable battery pack for the Hot-Shot DuraProd, a charger base, a 110-volt adapter and a 12-volt adapter. There is no handle, motor or shaft here, so this is what you buy alongside a prod you already own, or to set up a second battery. The 12-volt adapter is the reason most people end up with this kit. It charges off a vehicle battery, so a pack can come back to life in the truck between the corral and home, or out at rented pasture where there is no plug within a mile. At the yard you use the 110-volt adapter on a wall outlet instead. An LED shows charge status and a safety timer stops the charge when the pack is full, so leaving it on the bench overnight is not a problem. As with anything electrical, plug it into a sound outlet and look the cords and adapters over before the season starts. Cords that spend their life in a truck box take a beating.
