The HUDXR is the business end of a Hot-Shot DuraProd: a handle housing the motor and switch, with a rechargeable battery pack that snaps on. It fits any Hot-Shot prod shaft, so you pick rigid fiberglass or flexible and the length that suits your alley. The shaft itself is bought separately. What Miller builds into the handle is what matters when you are working cattle in a crowd. Patented feedback shock reduction, sealed circuitry to keep dirt and moisture out of the electrics, a rubber grip, an oversized trigger you can find with a glove on, a built-in hand guard and a safety switch. The snap-on battery lets you change packs without tools, which is the difference between carrying on and walking back to the shop. The DuraProd is modular by design, and that is the reason to buy a handle on its own. When one finally gives up, you replace it and keep the shaft you already own. Both the alkaline pack and the rechargeable pack fit this handle, so you can run whichever suits your operation and keep a spare in the truck.
